tips & advice
Remember these handy tips to help keep your Renault in top condition, saving you money.
rev gently when cold
Most engine wear occurs when starting a cold engine. During the winter months, give your Renault a few minutes to warm up by lightly revving the engine. This allows the lubrication system to move oil through the engine. Once the temperature gauge rises to the normal zone, your Renault is ready to go.
drive smoothly
City traffic creates stop-start motions that are hard on cars, wearing on engine, clutch, transmission, brakes and tyres, as well as using fuel. If you adopt a smooth, steady driving style you'll reduce wear on the car, save money and fuel, and help the environment.
always park in gear
Ensure that handbrake is completely engaged and your Renault is placed in gear when parked. Automatic cars should be placed in "P" and manual cars in first or reverse gear. For additional safety when parking downhill, point your tyres towards the kerb.
watch your gauges
When driving your Renault, keep an eye on oil pressure and water temperature, as these two gauges monitor the engine's vital cooling and lubrication systems. If at any time these gauges move into the critical zone or a warning light comes on, stop the car as soon as practical and get help by calling Renault roadside assistance.
lost keys & emergency access
As all new Renault vehicles are protected by a high security immobilizer and dead locking system, forced entry cannot be carried out due to the risk of causing serious damage. It is recommended to keep a spare key somewhere it is easily accessed, although it is not recommended to keep your spare key inside the vehicle.

safety first
If your vehicle is not completely off the road or is parked in a potentially hazardous location, please turn on your hazard lights. It may also be safer for the vehicle occupants to wait in safe place outside of the vehicle. You'll need to evaluate the situation yourself, with the safety of your passengers in mind.
